Absence Reporting

If your student will be absent for a full school day, we encourage you to use the Safe Arrival platform to report their absence. However, if your child will be leaving early, returning to school after an appointment, arriving late, or missing part of the day, feel free to contact the school directly by phone 587-671-0331 or email [email protected].


Safe Arrival Absence Reporting – NEW System Launch


We are excited to share that the entire school division has transitioned to a new platform for reporting student absences. This new process will be in effect immediately.

Parents and guardians now have three easy options to report an absence:

📱 1. Mobile App

Download the School Messenger Home app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Sign up to create your account using the email address you normally use for school communication.
  • Select Attendance, then Report an Absence.

💻 2. Website

Visit the School Messenger website at: home.schoolmessenger.ca

  • Sign up using your usual school communication email.
  • Select Attendance, then Report an Absence.

📞 3. Phone

Call 780-955-4526 to access the automated system.

  • Follow the prompts to report an absence.
  • For added security, we recommend creating a PIN.

⏰ Availability

  • Absences can be reported 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be entered in advance.

🔔 Absence Notifications

  • Parents will continue to receive absence notifications via email and text every block.
  • Important: If the absence is not excused within a short time, a phone call will be made to the primary contact number on file. After 4 attempts if there is no response to the primary contact number, the system will contact the secondary contact number.

If you experience any difficulties setting up your account or using the system, please contact the school office directly.
